Appointments
We aim to give the best care to pets and to explain and advise why and what we are doing in an unhurried and respectful way to pet owners.
We operate on an appointment system so that you are not kept waiting unless somebody ahead of you has an emergency. There are plenty of appointment slots so we can see you quickly.
GoreyBrayVet nurses, vets, and groomers have been looking after cats and dogs in Gorey and the surrounding area since 2017.
- Monday to Friday 9.00am – 12.15pm and 2.30pm – 5.45pm
- Saturday 9.00am – 1.00pm
- Animals admitted for procedures Mon-Fri 8.30 - 9.00am
We opened our doors to family pets in Knockmullen, Gorey (next to Heitons and Dominic Smith) in July 2017.
- After hours enquiries are strictly for emergencies for our client’s pets.
- Our veterinarians are on call after their day’s work at the clinic.
- Phone 053918253 to speak with the vet on call about the emergency care needed for your pet.
Sometimes our veterinarians will decide that your pet needs around the clock care in an emergency clinic and will refer you to the Pet Emergency Hospital in UCD or to Veterinary Specialists in Summerhill.
We have a special relationship with the Pet Emergency Hospital. If for any reason you can not contact our Out of Hours vet please phone the Pet Emergency Hospital (01)260 9920 and explain the problem with your pet and that you are a client of Goreybrayvet.

Emails only as follows:-
- 1. For transfer of records to Goreybrayvet from another veterinary professional such as a veterinary.
- practice, physiotherapist, behaviourist or specialist.
- 2. If one of our vets requests an email for further records from a veterinary practice or specialist.
- 3.If one of our vets requests photos or videos of your pet in specific situations. Examples might be seizure, fainting, cough, reverse sneeze, intermittent lameness or other requests they might make regarding your pets physical or behavioural condition which do not happen when your pet is having an examination with us at GoreyBrayVet.
Please Do Not Use Emails:-
- To deal with an emergency
- To request appointments
- To request a diagnosis, whether by description of clinical signs or photos or videos
The reason why we ask you not to do this is that our priority is for the animals we are looking after in the clinic in appointments, surgery and in our hospitalised care. Also emails do not give us all the information we need to make a diagnosis and so we could make inappropriate decisions about the best treatment for your pet .
We have staff dedicated to the care of animals, staff to answer the phone within minutes, busy vets and vet nurses but not staff checking emails every hour.
