Cat Clinic
We like cats. We understand them and recognise their differences. So we have a separate cat consultation room with a sofa and a quiet space away from dogs.
Nicola set up one of the first Irish Cats Only clinics in Brayvet in 2015. She had already been working with cats as a species for which she has a special affinity since a child. In 2000 she added more knowledge by completing the Australian Membership for Cat medicine affiliation .
GoreyBrayVet advise that cats should be checked once a year even if they do not need vaccinations Older Cats get the same problems as older people but they hide them or just like people do not know until a bit too late that they have them.
Here are some examples:
- High Blood Pressure
- Diabetes
- Arthritis
- Overactive Thyroid
- Kidney Disease
- Unexplained weight loss
- Sore mouths
So an annual check up for cats over 10 years is really important as many of these problems if diagnosed early are treatable and manageable.
